Refurbished Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra UK: Worth It in 2026?
The refurbished Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra UK market is heating up fast. Since Samsung launched the S26 Ultra in March 2026 — and added it to its own Certified Re-Newed programme shortly after — buyers can now save hundreds of pounds on the UK's most powerful Android flagship. But is it worth buying refurbished? And how does it compare to last year's S25 Ultra? This guide covers everything you need to know before you buy.
What Is the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra?
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is the top-tier model in Samsung's 2026 Galaxy S26 series, sitting above the standard S26 and S26+. It brings Samsung's most capable cameras, a larger 6.9-inch display, a built-in S Pen stylus, and the fastest chipset in any Galaxy phone to date. It is aimed squarely at power users, content creators, and anyone who wants the absolute best Android experience.
What sets the S26 Ultra apart from its siblings is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset — a step up from the Exynos 2600 used in the base S26 — paired with up to 16GB of RAM and Samsung's new Privacy Display, which stops others from viewing your screen at an angle.

How Much Does a Refurbished Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Cost in the UK?
Buying a refurbished Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra in the UK can save you anywhere from £300 to over £700 compared to the new retail price — depending on storage size, condition grade, and where you buy. Here is a rough guide to current refurbished pricing:
- 256GB (Excellent condition): from around £913, versus £1,449 new — a saving of over £500

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra vs S25 Ultra: Is the Upgrade Worth It?
If you are choosing between a refurbished S26 Ultra and a refurbished S25 Ultra, here is how the two compare:
| Feature | Galaxy S26 Ultra | Galaxy S25 Ultra |
|---|---|---|
| Chipset | Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 | Snapdragon 8 Elite (Gen 1) |
| Display | 6.9-inch, Privacy Display, Gorilla Armor 2 | 6.9-inch, Gorilla Armor |
| Main camera | 200MP (enhanced AI processing) | 200MP |
| Battery | 5,000mAh | 5,000mAh |
| Update support | 7 years from Android 16 | 7 years from Android 15 |
| Approx. refurbished price | From ~£913 | From ~£650 |
Our verdict: If you already own an S25 Ultra, the upgrade is hard to justify unless you specifically want the new Privacy Display or the performance boost for heavy Galaxy AI use. But if you are upgrading from an S23 Ultra or older — or switching from an iPhone — the refurbished S26 Ultra delivers a genuine generational leap, and it is still hundreds of pounds cheaper than buying new.
What to Check Before Buying a Refurbished S26 Ultra
Not all refurbished phones are created equal. When buying a refurbished Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra in the UK, always verify the following:
- Condition grade: Labels like Excellent or Good describe cosmetic wear. Read the seller's grade definitions carefully — they vary between sellers.
- Battery health: Look for sellers who disclose battery health. Aim for at least 85% for a phone that will last several years.
- Warranty length: Samsung's Certified Re-Newed units come with 2 years. Third-party sellers typically offer 12 months — confirm before you buy.
- Network lock status: Make sure the handset is fully SIM-free and unlocked, so it works on any UK network.
- Return policy: A 30-day return window is the standard to look for. Do not buy from sellers offering less than 14 days.
Is a Refurbished Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Worth Buying in 2026?
For most buyers, the answer is a clear yes — and the timing could hardly be better. The S26 Ultra launched in March 2026, so refurbished units are still relatively young: battery health tends to be high, cosmetic wear tends to be minimal, and prices have already fallen considerably from launch.
The phone's seven-year software update commitment means a refurbished S26 Ultra purchased today will still receive Android OS updates and monthly security patches well into 2033 — exceptional longevity for any smartphone.
The refurbished S26 Ultra is the right choice if you are:
- A power user who wants the fastest Android processor currently available
- A photographer or videographer who needs Samsung's most advanced quad-camera system
- A productivity user who relies on the built-in S Pen for notes, sketching, or signing documents
- Someone upgrading from an S22 Ultra or earlier who wants a meaningful leap in speed and camera performance
- A buyer who wants a premium Android experience at significantly less than the new price
