Product Safety & Compliance

We take customer safety seriously. All accessories provided with the products listed on our store are designed and assessed for compliance with applicable EU and UK safety legislation, including CE marking, RoHS restrictions on hazardous substances, and Low Voltage Directive (LVD) requirements where applicable.

Below you can review key standards, our testing approach, and download compliance documentation.

CE Marking (European Union)

The CE mark indicates a product meets relevant EU safety, health, and environmental protection requirements. For our electrical accessories (e.g., watch chargers and power adapters), CE marking typically covers:

  • Low Voltage Directive (LVD) — 2014/35/EU (electrical safety)
  • EMC Directive — 2014/30/EU (electromagnetic compatibility)
  • RoHS Directive — 2011/65/EU + amendments (substance restrictions)

As part of CE conformity, we compile a Technical File and issue an EU Declaration of Conformity (DoC).

RoHS Compliance

The RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU) restricts the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (EEE). Our products are assessed to ensure restricted substances (e.g., Lead, Mercury, Cadmium, Hexavalent Chromium, PBB, PBDE, and listed phthalates) remain within specified limits.

We maintain material declarations and/or RoHS test reports to substantiate compliance.

Low Voltage Directive (LVD) – Electrical Safety

The LVD (2014/35/EU) covers electrical equipment operating within certain voltage limits. Where applicable, our chargers and mains-powered accessories are tested against harmonised standards to evaluate:

  • Protection against electric shock, fire, overheating and mechanical hazards
  • Insulation, creepage and clearance distances
  • Abnormal operation and fault conditions

Typical safety standard applied for ICT/AV power supplies and adapters: EN 62368-1 (or applicable successor/variant). Where wireless charging is present, additional assessments may include EN 62311 (human exposure) and EMC standards such as EN 55032 (emissions) and EN 55035 (immunity).

Watch Chargers – What We Test

  • Electrical Safety: EN 62368-1 (or relevant harmonised standard)
  • EMC: EN 55032 (emissions), EN 55035 (immunity) or applicable equivalents
  • RF Exposure (for wireless): EN 62311 (as applicable)
  • RoHS: Material screening and/or test reports against Directive 2011/65/EU + amendments

Testing is performed by qualified laboratories. We maintain the technical documentation and Declarations of Conformity for inspection.

3-Pin Plugs (UK) – Construction & Safety

Our UK 3-pin mains plugs are designed to comply with applicable safety requirements for the UK market. Typical assessments include:

  • Pin dimensions, housing integrity, shutters and fuse conformity
  • Overheating, fire resistance and electrical insulation checks
  • Markings, ratings, and user instructions

Where sold in the EU, related adapters/power supplies are assessed under CE requirements; for the UK market, UK-specific requirements may apply in addition to CE documentation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does CE mean?

CE indicates the product meets EU legislative requirements for safety, health and environmental protection. It is backed by a technical file and a Declaration of Conformity.

What is RoHS?

RoHS limits specific hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. Our products are designed and verified to meet these limits.

What does LVD testing cover?

LVD testing evaluates electrical safety—protection from electric shock, fire, overheating, and other hazards—against harmonised standards such as EN 62368-1.
